Family Travel Question:
Q | Any suggestions for a peaceful, family-friendly, all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean?
We are three adults and three kids looking for a peaceful and family-friendly all-inclusive resort. We are considering Beaches or Dreams Resort in Jamaica, Dominican Republic, or Barbados. Do you have any recommendations for any of these, or perhaps a better place? -Carmelle, Quebec
A | Best all-inclusive options for the Caribbean
You’re definitely spoiled for choice when it comes to All Inclusive options in the Caribbean, and you have many more options than Beaches or Dreams in Jamaica, Barbados or Dominican Republic. Seeing as you’re from Quebec, have you considered Cuba? When it comes to family travel, Cuba is safe and clean and incredibly reasonably priced. Currently, almost one million Canadians travel to Cuba every year.
Probably the most developed area for a wide variety of All-inclusive options is Varadero. Varadero Beach is sugary-white sand and turquoise water that goes on for miles. Many of the higher-end all-inclusive resorts in Cuba are in Varadero, and you will likely find the price point to be considerably less than that of your other options.
Cuba’s health care is very good, and tourists are well looked after should they require medical attention. Most hotels and resorts have medical staff on site (or at least on call). Aside from having your routine vaccination schedule up-to-date, no additional shots are required to visit Cuba. Some choose to be vaccinated against Hepatitis A & B.
I realize I may have just confused you more! I will tell you that Beaches Turks & Caicos is fantastic, and Jamaica is fabulous so combining Beaches and Jamaica can only be a great vacation. Dreams Resorts would be on par in Dominican Republic. There are excellent all-inclusive resorts in Barbados, but on that island I recommend a more flexible eating plan, as the local restaurants and eating options are too fabulous to limit yourself.
Have a great vacation!
