I would like to take my daughter on a trip to one of the Disney Parks this year. Any idea which park would be ideal for a 4 year old who is obsessed with Ariel? -Michelle, OK
A | Disney theme parks make great vacations for young children
Disney theme parks are a great choice for family vacations. This is their main demographic and they cater to children of all ages. Besides that, it is a vacation that young and old will both enjoy. There is nothing like watching a child’s eyes light up at the sight of their favorite character. Fortunately, both the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World theme parks are pretty similar in layout and they both feature most characters including Ariel. The princesses have their own shows, tea parties, and usually are around for pictures and autographs. Check with the park when you first show up and find out where your princess of choice will be stationed and at what time and plan your day around it. Some characters wander around with hosts, but some special characters (specifically Ariel) usually have a spot where they are stationed (note the fins).
What it usually comes down to when choosing between theme parks is geographic location: whether it’s easier to get to Disneyland or Disney World. They are both pretty similar except Disney World is on the grander scale with many more other theme parks incorporated. Either one you choose will be a vacation neither of you will forget. Have fun and don’t forget your camera and sunscreen!
*Edit: I just want to point out that at Disneyland you can have lunch with Ariel and the princesses in Ariel Grotto and there is a new attraction Ariel’s Sea Adventure coming early 2011.
