Family Travel Question:
Q | Any suggestions for a two-week vacation to Spain in December?
We are two adults and two kids (8 and 5) and will be spending two weeks in Spain in December. We want to include a 2-night stay at a ski resort and would love some ideas! -Kala, United Arab Emirates
A | Finding the snow in Spain
December is one of the peak seasons in Spain so it would certainly pay to book ahead as soon as possible anywhere that you wish to travel. Keep in mind that snow falls may be better in January or February and best in March in the Sierra Nevada; December may be not be as heavy. Two resorts operate in the Pyrenees: La Molina and Masella. La Molina is reported to be ideal for families. Check out their websites: http://hivern.lamolina.cat/en/(English and Spanish) and www.masella.com (Spanish only). A good travel agent should be able to assist you with further information and bookings.
So that you don’t spend all your time in transit for your two week vacation in Spain, consider staying in only a couple of places and really explore those areas. The Catalonia region includes wonderful places such as Barcelona and Girona and the ski resort areas mentioned. These three places would certainly keep your whole family fully occupied and entertained with many varied things to do and see.
I was in Spain this past summer for 35 days with my boys aged 6 and 9 years old. We were in Barcelona for the last four days of our journey so you can see what we get up to by following us at Four Dots on the Map. Adios!
