Family Travel Question:
Q | Can you recommend a luxurious resort by a beach that has a pool and would work with a toddler?
My husband and I want to take our 11-month-old son on vacation at the end of August. Do you have any recommendations for a luxurious resort with a pool that is off a beach? We are open to U.S. or abroad. - Beth, New York
A | Four Seasons Biltmore Santa Barbara: Coastal luxury for families
Sometimes, families feel like they need to give up luxury in order to travel with their children. In actuality, some of the most luxurious hotels also tend to be extremely family friendly. Last fall, my family visited the Four Seasons Biltmore which sits on the edge of the stunning Santa Barbara coastline and I was thoroughly impressed with the grounds, the rooms, and the complimentary activities which catered to families.
My kids enjoyed a couple hours in the complimentary kid’s club while my husband and I took a bike ride (using the resort’s bikes which are loaned for free) along the coast. If my children were of bike-riding age, they would have enjoyed tagging along. My husband and I also took the kids out to the putting green which is located the lush central courtyard and then helped them enjoy their first game of crochet on the lawn. An unusual early fall rainstorm prevented us from enjoying the gorgeous strand of semi-private beach but didn’t keep us out of the heated pools.
