Family Travel Question:
Q | What is there to do in Palm Springs with Kids?
A | Palm Springs with preschoolers
Palm Springs may not be the first destination that pops into a parents mind when planning a vacation with their toddler, but over the past few months I have learned that there are many great things to do with kids in the region. My children are four years old and had an absolute blast on a Desert Adventures jeep tour. The two hour tour is perfect for a preschooler’s attention span and the guides are great at keeping the kids interested by providing plenty of time to hop out and explore things hands-on. It truly was the best tour my family has been on.
In the spring, touring the Indian Canyons is a great way to have fun outside and experience a genuine palm oasis. If you are looking to escape to a much colder climate for a couple hours, check out the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. The temperature at the top can be 40 degrees cooler than on the valley floor and there is often snow on the ground.
In nearby Palm Desert, the Living Desert is a must visit. The zoo focuses on desert flora and fauna and is always popular with children of all ages. For children who love airplanes, the Palm Springs Air Museum would be a great place to add to your itinerary. Finally, for some air-conditioned kid-friendly fun, check out the Children’s Museum of the Desert in Rancho Mirage. With so much to do in and around Palm Springs, the bigger problem will be finding time to fit it all in!
