Family Travel Question:
Q | Where are good stops with kids between Orlando and Atlanta?
Can you recommend things to see and places to eat and sleep between Orlando and Atlanta? We are a family of four. -Mayte, Venezuela
A | Stopping with kids between Atlanta and Orlando
We have traveled from Atlanta to Orlando countless time and most of our trips were done in one day. The trip between Orlando and Atlanta will typically take about 8 to 9 hours depending on how often and how long you stop.
For a quick bite, we typically stop at regular fast food joints because they are fast and easy (if not a great choice). Plus then we don’t have to worry about what is on the menu for picky eaters. However, you can also stop at a fun, family-friendly restaurant like Cracker Barrel where you can eat, shop, and even pick up an audio book for the road trip.
There are many fun and kid-friendly things to do in or around Metro Atlanta area but once you start driving down the I-75 to Orlando the choices will be limited. Don’t worry! There are a few options that can break up the long, boring road trips.
A stop at Wild Adventures in Valdosta will put a smile on your children’s faces. Just remember that this might not be a quick stop and also check their operating hours and dates (they normally close for winter). You might want to plan an overnight stay here.
For another option, you can plan geocaching on the road the Geocaching website will tell you where caches are hidden. This can make the trip fun and exciting for kids of all ages.
Above all else, enjoy and have fun on your trip!
