The very first time you fly with your baby you’ll soon realize that getting there is no longer half the fun.  It is a lot of effort to remember everything, but the more organized you are, the less stress you’ll have.

Infant's first flightWith all the delays that happen these days, you need to be prepared.  Exchange your chic tote for a solid carry-on/diaper bag that has enough pockets to keep you organized but not so many that you can’t figure out where everything is!  Be sure to use a detailed carry-on packing list –  you don’t want to be stranded in the air and realize you’ve forgotten something important.

Exclusive breastfeeding is by far the easiest way to feed your baby when traveling. If you are bottle feeding, be sure to bring enough formula with you for a minimum of 2 more feeds than you think you’ll need, and keep all of baby’s food, bottles, and toiletries together in your carry-on. Going through airport security with a baby is also work;  if you have everything together, it’s much easier for you and the security agents!

I would never have believed it as a first-time mom, but the younger the baby, the easier to travel with.  They’re not grabbing stuff yet or putting things in their mouth, so it’s the one time where you can pretty much control your baby’s surroundings as you head out on your journey – enjoy it!
